2012-05-27 Memorial Day: Warriors of Conscience

Rev. Beth Banks, Worship Leader; Kirk Ridgeway, Worship Associate; Jerry Friis, Life Journey.

U.S. military service is voluntary; the resumption of the draft is always possible. The choice to serve or be a conscientious objector, especially in times of war, often involves a conflict of conscience. We will consider this conflict of conscience and how we as UU’s might respond to different and difficult choices. (Conscience a: the sense or consciousness of the moral goodness or blameworthiness of one’s own conduct, intentions, or character together with a feeling of obligation to do right or be good; b: a faculty, power, or principle enjoining good acts.)
