Thiago Dutra shares his personal story of resilience and determination. He moved to the United States from Brazil at the age of 15, and has lived in this country without the benefit of citizenship for about 20 years. Thiago is currently protected by DACA, legislation that provides temporary protection for young undocumented immigrants. It has not been an easy journey, but he hasn’t allowed hardship stop him from achieving his dreams
Thiago Dutra is a senior at University of California Davis majoring in Political science Public Service. Married to Alyne and father of Sarah and Ava, the family is expecting a baby girl in February. Thiago, is the first generation college graduate. He faced many struggles but has always kept a positive mind set about life. He completed the UC Davis police cadet Academy and he will become a police officer. He has a passion for public service and is directly connected with many outreach programs and activities.
